Public Talk ("Constant Union is a Reality") by Paramahamsa Prajnanananda

The heritage-listed Marrickville Town Hall in Sydney, with its nine-metre high ceilings and ornate features, was a distinguished and historic venue for Paramahamsa Prajnanananda to deliver a public talk on the evening of 19 April 2018. About 120 people gathered to listen to Guruji speak on the topic of “Constant Union is a Reality”.

The event began with a beautiful chant by Swami Atmavidyananda, whose voice resonated powerfully throughout the hall. Swami Samarpanananda then eloquently introduced the audience to the lineage of Kriya Yoga Masters including Shri Guruji Paramahamsa Prajnanananda.

Then, Guruji addressed the audience, many of whom were non-Kriyavans who had come along to hear him speak for the first time. And what a joy! His humorous stories delighted their faces and his dynamic explanation of truth and union captured their hearts. The key message is that we all need to learn to love the breath — the breath is God Himself. It is life itself. When we learn to remain conscious of every breath, and become one with the breath, this is constant union which gives constant joy.

The talk concluded with a question and answer session, in which the questions asked were as engaging and tender as Guruji’s responses. The feeling in the audience was a union of true love. Towards the end, Guruji lovingly said that he didn’t want the audience to go, and then much to our delight he asked us all to close our eyes as he guided a brief meditation, uniting us all.

Finally, the evening ended with Guruji and the other monks spending time with members of the audience, greeting new and old friends alike, showering us all in divine blessings.

Public Talk by Paramahamsa Prajnanananda

Perth Kriyavans were blessed to have our beloved Guruji, Paramahamsa Prajnanananda, visit our city for the very first time on Friday 20 April 2018, as part of the Blaze of Spirituality Tour. He was accompanied by senior monk Swami Samarpanananda, a regular visitor to WA.

The public talk was held at the Beacon Yoga Centre, near Fremantle. To open the proceedings, Richard Walley, a highly respected member of the Noongar community, provided a "Welcome to Country" to bless the esteemed visitors, including a welcome in language and accompanied by didgeridoo. Swami Samarpanananda then addressed the audience before handing over to Guruji. To finalise the evening, Richard Walley, accompanied by Kriyavans, Julian Silburn on didgeridoo and Sophie Lawrence on crystal bowl, closed the evening with some fantastic healing sounds.

Thanks to the efforts of the Perth committee, we had an excellent turnout — 126 people attended, including present Kriyavans, those wishing to be initiated, and many who were there solely to listen to our Guruji.

As Guruji spoke, the atmosphere in the room became one of bliss and awe, being in the divine presence of our realised master. It was a beautiful evening, ending with Guruji singing and then mingling with the audience, who were overjoyed to accept his blessings.

Public Talk by Swami Atmavidyananda

Adelaide was very fortunate in having the company of Swami Atmavidyananda who, during his short stay here, gave a public talk at the Ganesha Temple, initiated three Kriyavans into 2nd Kriya (parts 1 & 2) and one Kriyavan into 2nd Kriya (part 3), gave spiritual counsel, led a guided meditation session, gave an impromptu talk and told gentle jokes — all of which contributed towards creating a happy and harmonious atmosphere.

Swamiji's talk at the Ganesha Temple prompted a number of people to comment that they had been inspired to resume meditating and others to express strong interest in learning Kriya Yoga at the initiation program later this year.

Swami Atmavidyananda's stay was made comfortable by a number of Adelaide residents who generously donated their time to cook him meals and transport him to and from venues. Thank you, all, for the kindness and love you extended to Swamiji.

Public Talk by Swami Atmavidyananda

Swamiji Atmavidyananda visited Canberra from April 22 to April 24. During his visit, he initiated Kriyavans to second Kriya. On Monday April 23, he gave a public talk on “Ancient Solution to Modern Problems”.

This talk focused on modern problems that our society faces (stress, depression, fatigue and lack of directions in life). He pointed out that modern technology has a lot to offer in terms of technology and communication. He highlighted the need to effectively use these advances through our inherent divine nature. A key theme that emerged from his discourse is the link between actions and our mind. Swamiji highlighted that our “breathing” is this link that harmonises mind and our action. He further elaborated that Kriya technique indeed provides this link in harmonising our thinking with our actions. There were several questions about the “science” behind Kriya yoga. Swamiji clearly articulated that Kriya Yoga is scientifically based and gave several examples about how practising Kriya Yoga can benefit physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

1-day Intensive ("Into the Heart of Devotion") with Swami Atmavidyananda

Swami Atmavidyananda Baba ran a beautiful one-day intensive titled "Into the Heart of Devotion" on ANZAC Day, 25 April.

We explored bhakti and devotion through scripture, through meditation, through chanting and through satsang and discussion. Thirty-four participants took part — about half of whom are Kriyavans and half of whom aren’t. All basked in the love and wisdom of Swamiji and enjoyed the good company of each other — a beautiful way to spread the message of spirituality and love across and beyond the Kriya community.

We studied together. We took food together. May we grow in wisdom together. May there be no jealousy or ill-feeling between us. May we live in love together.

Public Talk and Kriya Yoga Intensive with Swami Atmavidyananda

Following the 1-day intensive in Melbourne, Swami Atmavidyananda flew to Brisbane on 26 April to conduct higher Kriya initiations and present a public talk titled "Ancient Solution to Modern Problems" (the same theme as his talk in Canberra). Twenty-two people listened to Swamiji with devoted attention. As a result, nine people were greatly inspired by the benefits of Kriya Yoga that they registered for the next initiations in Brisbane.

On the following day, 27 April 2018, Swamiji held a Kriya Yoga intensive for Qld Kriyavans. In addition to guiding two meditations, he discussed the topic of likes and dislikes and how these affect our lives. He stressed the importance of being a "witness" to what we experience internally and externally.

"The Blaze has not ended; it has just begun. And with our constant love, it will continue to burn brighter and brighter."
